The 16th Contemporary Criminal Justice Forum and the 2nd Beijing Foreign-related Rule of Law Forum were held
On August 18, under the guidance of the China Criminal Law Research Association, sponsored by the School of Law and the Academy of Criminal Legal Sciences of Beijing Normal University, and co-organized by Jingshi Law Firm and the Criminal Professional Committee of Jingshi Law Firm and the Criminal Professional Committee of Jingshi Law Firm (National), the "16th Contemporary Criminal Justice Forum and the 2nd Beijing Foreign Rule of Law Forum" was held in Beijing.
The purpose of this forum is to discuss the response strategies of China's criminal legislation and judicial system after the entry into force of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, and to better promote the construction of our country's foreign-related rule of law. Jiang Wei, President of the Network and Information Law Research Association of the China Law Society, Jia Yu, President of the China Criminal Law Research Association, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, President and Second-level Justice of the Shanghai High People's Court, Zhang Yanyun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Professor of Beijing Normal University, Yin Jianfeng, Vice Dean and Professor of the School of Law of Beijing Normal University, and other experts and scholars attended the meeting and delivered speeches. At the meeting, Yin Jianfeng also read out a written speech by Gao Mingxuan, honorary president of the China Criminal Law Research Association and people's educator.
Gao Mingxuan pointed out that the institute should take the 20th anniversary of its establishment as an opportunity to build an academic system of criminal law with Chinese characteristics with both theoretical depth and practical value, cultivate legal talents with both ability and integrity, actively serve the national strategy, and respond to the people's expectations for the rule of law.
Jiang Wei said that the core purpose of the docking of China's criminal legal system and the United Nations space to combat cybercrime is to transform China's position on cyber sovereignty and data security into a global rule scheme with Chinese characteristics through the improvement and upgrading of the domestic legal system.
Jia Yu stressed that it is necessary to actively respond to the new challenges of cybercrime and build a new pattern of multi-party participation and collaborative governance; it is necessary to strengthen international cooperation and further promote the fight against cross-border cybercrime; It is necessary to deepen cooperation between colleges and universities and cultivate a team of foreign-related criminal rule of law talents with a broad international vision and interdisciplinary capabilities.
The participants also had a heated discussion on "research on macro issues of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime" and "research on the regulation of specific crimes under the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime".
